The TS-CR1 Crush Tester measures the vertical compression (crush) resistance of corrugated paper, kraft paper and paperboard. With suitable optional accessories, it can also evaluate bonding strength and horizontal pressure resistance. The instrument complies with TAPPI T472 and JIS P 8126, and also meets ISO 5628, ISO 2493, TAPPI T556, GB/T 2679.3, GB/T 23144, QB/T 1051 and GB/T 22364.

Key Features

The instrument can be fitted with dedicated auxiliary equipment for the following tests:

• Ring Crush Test (RCT): a center plate and special sampling device for testing paper and cardboard.

• Edge Crush Test (ECT): an edgewise crush sampling device with an auxiliary guide block for testing cardboard.

• Adhesive (Stripping) Strength Test (PAT): a peeling strength test rack for testing corrugated board.

• Flat Crush Test (FCT): a flat crush sampler for testing the flat crush strength of corrugated board.

• Laboratory CCT and CMT Tests: a vertical fluter and auxiliary equipment for measuring the vertical or flat crush strength of corrugated board.

• Thickness Testing: thickness test pads for measuring paper, cardboard, corrugated board and other sheet materials.

Applications

The TS-CR1 is designed for testing the vertical crush resistance of corrugated paper, kraft paper and paperboard. Optional accessories extend its use to bonding strength and horizontal pressure resistance testing. It meets TAPPI T472 and JIS P 8126.
